We Stand with Nicki Daugherty

When I heard that my friend Nicki Daugherty was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer, I knew that friends, former parents and students would need to gather around this amazing woman.
Nicki has given thirty-four years of her life to teaching in Christian elementary schools around the city. Some of the schools that she has taught in are Bellevue Christian Academy, 11 years, Victory, 1 year and she ended her career at Trinity/Lifegate school where she gave 20 years of service.
Those parents and friends who remember “Miss D” know that she poured her heart into every student and was instrumental in many of their decisions for Christ. Her teaching style “wooed” the children into learning making the classroom an exciting place to be. Many parents remember “Miss D” for helping their children read their first book. Besides teaching, Nicki loves to pray and has dedicated countless hours to praying for people in need.
Now, Nicky is faced with the greatest challenge of her life! She is currently undergoing chemo and unable to work. Being single with no one to carry the household burdens, the bills are beginning to pile up and without our assistance, she will be unable to keep her home. Unfortunately, there are rarely any retirement benefits associated with Christian education due to lack of funds. We are asking for your help in order for Nicki to be at peace as she goes through this very difficult season. Will you help?
