We want to help Coach Nance!

Spende geschützt
On Friday October 30th Tim went to urgent care after not feeling like himself for several weeks, and noticing some additional symptoms that seemed out of the ordinary. They quickly sent him to the Munson ER, where he was then emergency transported down to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.

After a whirlwind of tests and preliminary diagnosis’s, Tim has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Specifically B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with a Philadelphia Positive Chromosome. Or B-ALL (Philadelphia positive). The positive Philadelphia chromosome means it is a more aggressive form. Fortunately modern medicine has a newer and very promising treatment plan for this specific type of Leukemia. It is even curable, but it’s going to take time and work and strength over the next several months. Tim’s official treatment plan started Friday November 6th, and now begins our path to recovery, remission and eventually a Stem Cell Transplant.

His treatment plan will take a lot of back and forth travel between Traverse City and Grand Rapids, with numerous longer term stays at Spectrum. Currently we will be here for at least two more weeks (up to 4 total) from Friday November 6.

June is staying in Traverse City with Kaitlyn’s parents at this time to keep up her normal routine as much as possible, while Kaitlyn is in Grand Rapids to support Tim.

We are in great hands at Spectrum Health, with an incredible team of doctors, nurses and honestly every staff member from the food service to the cleaning gal, Jody.

If you don’t know Timothy Nance, here are some things to know. He is an incredible father to a four year old daughter named June, and a great husband to his wife Kaitlyn who is 5 months pregnant with their second child. As an avid runner, Tim is an incredible coach for Cross Country, Track and Basketball. One of his biggest passions is coaching the great kiddos in our community and trying to inspire them to try their hardest at everything they do. He participates in numerous races from 5k’s to marathons and is involved with the Traverse City Track Club. He works for Higher Grounds Coffee and takes pride in brewing you a great cup of morning joe. You can often find Tim sporting Adidas track suits, getting involved with local political groups and enjoying some Charles and Reid pizza on Friday nights, jamming out to Tyler Childers whenever humanly possible. Also… don’t forget about his love of rocks and his newfound hobby of rock polishing.

Any support will be so greatly appreciated and utilized to help offset the cost of treatment, travel and long term hospital stays. Other contributions you can make that will make a huge difference is to donate blood and platelets, register to be a bone marrow donor, and go for runs in Tim’s honor. We are SO grateful for all the love, support, encouragement and help we have already received during this devastating time.

Thank you!
