We want to swing too.

Hello, this fundraiser is supported by the Poplar Hill and District Lions. One of our members recently came across a situation in our community park that inspired him to ask our Lions club to get behind this cause. Here is his story.

"My name is Rick Castle, l am a member of the Poplar Hill & District Lions. While walking in our park at Poplar Hill I noticed a grandmother and grandfather struggling to lift their grandchild out of her wheelchair into a swing. I asked them do you have to do this all the time? They said "Yes" because she loves it so much."

Following some research online, Rick found a solution to this problem in the form of a playground swing called "We Go Swing". Designed to be integrated into the playground setting this swing lets kids of all abilities play together and experience the thrill of swinging.

In addition to this fundraiser we have also started a bottle drive. Bottles and cans can be dropped off at 9883 Ilderton Road in Poplar Hill at the log home.

Future promotion for this fundraiser will include a photo shoot in the Spring with 15 or more kids and adults with coverage in the Ilderton Villager and the Middlesex Banner plus CTV news is going to interview us on that day also to help spearhead the project. More details about these events will be announced closer to the event dates.
