We were scammed getting our first home

We are facing and having to go through our worst nightmare. As many of you know, and if you don’t, our small family just got our first new place, My boyfriend, our one year old little girl and I- We moved in June 6 and rented through great jones property management (so we thought). Just after a week of what seemed like the perfect home was coming together, We get a knock at our door with the real property manager and police asking why we’re in a VACANT residence. Everything we worked so hard for, everything we’ve just accomplished was a lie. Everything seemed extremely legit, we never met our landlord with the “excuse” of COVID, there was a lockbox that we used through the realtor company, and we signed a lease and switched lights to our name. We are completely taken back by this. We have the documents, emails, texts and his photo ID. The paper work he made us fill out for a background check required our social security numbers, birthdates, previous addressees and more personal information. 

The real property manager gave us an ultimatum, we can stay for the sake of our family and little girl if we can somehow come up with 1,664$. We don’t have long, and it’s a huge amount to collect upfront, so with the help of friends & family we would like to please ask for any help, whether it’s a donation, share, or any help and guidance to get us through this process.
