We Will Survive Cancer is Making Spirits Bright

Tax deductible
An update on We Will Survive Cancer's GoFundMe request -

As WWSC has been shopping, wrapping and delivering gifts for cancer patients and their families this Christmas, we've learned that one four-year old lost his mother, a week ago.  Another eight-year old boy lost both his father and sister earlier in the year; to add to their grief,  his mother lost her job this fall causing a major struggle to buy food and pay their rent.  2020 has brought incredible loss this year from health issues, Covid, jobs, services and so much more.  The loss this year is devastating across the board but is made more traumatic for children who experience loss such as the above during the Holiday season.  These are the families We Will Survive Cancer supports.  They need love and support more than ever this year.    Please help WWSC bring joy to the families we are serving this year.

Imagine a Christmas in physical pain, fighting cancer in a hospital room, surrounded by family fighting with you and supporting you, but there’s no extra money for holiday gifts, a special meal or any kind of yuletide celebration for that matter.  This is a reality for so many families across the country.  We Will Survive Cancer (WWSC), a 501(c)3, is working hard through its Making Spirits Bright campaign to bring a little joy during the holiday season to these families who need to know there are people out there who care, and who want to help.

Eleven years ago, a group of concerned friends and I, started We Will Survive Cancer, after my daughter-in-law, Michelle Tull Bynum, succumbed to this horrible disease.  Michelle fought valiantly, for five and a half years, but lost her battle, leaving behind her young son, husband her family and friends who loved and cherished her dearly.   During the course of her fight, Michelle became an advocate for young women - she coined two phrases, “Don’t Waste My Cancer,” and “Eat Life with a Big Spoon.”  We all took to heart her warrior spirit and started this effort to help those in the fight of their life, their family members fighting, as well.

To date, WWSC has helped hundreds of families with basic needs and gifts during the holidays.  This year, during the pandemic, WWSC assisted families with food, supplies, and other basic needs.  As we look toward the holidays, we know families who are daily living with cancer are in greater need than in years past.  You can be part of this effort to ensure these families especially the children, experience the magic of Christmas, by contributing to WWSC’s GoFund Me campaign.  Please take a moment to donate $5, $10, $15, $100, or whatever you can to help make this holiday season bright, full of love, kindness and hope.  For further information, please visit WWSC’s website at www.wewillsurvivecancer.org – Thank you in advance for your generosity and support – every little bit helps.
