We won't let Megan Gooch Darzanoff fight alone...

Our beloved childhood friend, Megan Gooch, (Darzanoff) was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 appendiceal (appendix) cancer. Appendiceal (appendix) cancer only affects 1 to 2 people per million. It is so rare that trials are not a common form of treatment. We are devastated by this terrible news. It still doesn’t feel real, especially considering her young age. Megan’s been an incredible friend to all of us, the one we could always count on.
After evaluation at Memorial Sloan Kettering, the doctors advised Megan that they likely could not cure her cancer but would attempt to control it.
Megan began receiving chemo treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering but decided given their feedback and her reaction to chemotherapy, a decision was made to explore alternative treatments.
Megan and her husband Hayri have elected to undergo an alternative treatment in Mexico. This treatment is a combination of traditional, alternative, and holistic cancer therapies. Unfortunately, the cost of the treatment in Mexico with ongoing medical treatment in the United States and the countless supplements/dietary restrictions needed to attack this rare form of cancer are all not covered by insurance.
Megan is a devoted mom to two adorable young girls ages 4 and 6. She is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and social worker. She has dedicated her entire life to helping people. She is unable to work due to this illness, since the treatments require daily commitments. Their medical bills continue to grow. If you can afford to contribute, we would all be incredibly grateful to you.
With love,
Her forever friends…
