The Future of YJ's is Female
Donation protected
As many of you already know YJ’s has officially closed. Erin and I worked really hard to secure the resources needed to keep the doors open and feel really good about the progress we were able to make with the time we had. We wanted to give you all an update on what we did with the funds raised so far and what you can expect moving forward.
Starting this week, Erin Keller (seriously she is the best) is going to be facilitating Wednesday Night Jam Sessions at Unity on the Plaza. First one will be hosted by Stephen Martin.

In October we plan to host the first of what we hope will be a monthly curated event while we continue to work on obtaining a permanent location.
While we hate to see YJ’s go we are so grateful for the support from our community and especially want to thank all of the musicians that volunteered to keep the music going. We look forward to working with all of them in the future!
The funds raised so far have done a couple of things.
We donated $100 to send AP the Poet to the Individual World Poetry slam this fall.

We purchased the neon before and after lights, keep an eye out for them!
One of the larger donations was returned once it was clear we would not be keeping the space but we are so grateful to that person for making it available when they did.
The rest of the funds have gone towards applications involved with creating a new llc, facilitating weekly jam sessions, and towards our first curated event in October.
We will have more details towards the ends of this month but feel free to reach out to Erin and I in the meantime if you have any questions.
