We Care [A Feminine Care Drive]
Donation protected
Our Goals: We will be donating pads and tampons to women in need every month. Our purpose is to remind these women that they are important, beautiful, and deserve to feel confident. Along with every box donated, the women will receive a handmade tag reminding them that they are not alone.
The Shelters: We have a current partnership with Downtown Women’s Center, Good Shephard Shelter, and PATH.
How You Can Help: Please donate on our “gofundme” webpage -OR- donate a NEW box of pads and/or tampons (email: [email redacted] for details)
It costs $2.50 a month to sponsor a woman in need and there are a total of 420 women a month. [The goal on the gofundme webpage is based on sponsoring all 420 women for 6 months.]

It is so easy for us to forget that having sanitary products is a privilege. Not being able to have basic pads and tampons when you are on your period would restrict you from your everyday activities. What would happen if every month when a woman buys a box of pads or tampons for themselves they bought an extra one to donate to We Care? And what would happen if once a month men bought a box of pads or tampons to donate?
Women in homeless shelters have limited resources and restricted bathroom time. Women who have been abused and are in temporary housing at shelters have none of the resources they once had. They have had to pick up and completely move their lives. This is an ongoing issue that without dedicated volunteers and donations each and every month will continue to make life more difficult for women in need. Every woman has the right to be clean and confident. We are committed to delivering products to the selected shelters every month and we are seeking funds to be able to do so.
The issue is that talking about periods has a stigma attached to it. Women feel ashamed to say that they need feminine care products or that the product they were given was not enough because they are having an extra heavy period. Men may feel uncomfortable when women speak of their periods and feel this is an issue that does not pertain to them. But that needs to end because a woman's menstrual cycle is a fact of life and major urinary issues and infections can occur to women who are not sanitary during their cycle.
Now is the time to get involved and be active. Please consider sponsoring a woman. You can sponsor her for one-month worth of products or if you are able even a year! If you would rather donate the actual product, you can donate any brand of tampons or pads as long as the boxes are unopened and new.
Thank you for your time and commitment to making the world a better place!
xoxo, Janelle
