Wednesbury Fire Cadets- Ladder Climb

Wednesbury Fire Cadets are trying to raise money so that they can represent the UK in the CTIF competition being held in Italy during July.

They are attempting as a group to climb a ladder to a total height of 4258m, which is the combined height of the four highest peaks in the UK.

This will mean they need to climb a ladder a combined total of 1065 times, or 53 times each.

The money raised will help towards the cost of the trip to Italy, which is a fantastic opportunity for our fire cadets, both team members and supporters.

They will spend a whole week engaging with other fire cadets from across Europe, exchanging ideas, learning from each other, looking at cultural differences.

It is not just a competition, the cadets will also host a UK stand in the ‘exhibition of nations’, showcasing the UK and our fire cadets.

They will present a routine in a Eurovision style show, where all the countries perform.

They will have organised activities provided in the local area by the competition organisers, and additional enrichment activities provided by the volunteers who attend with them.

Having attended these competitions since 2011 we will continue to assert WMFS Fire Cadets as leaders in UK Fire Cadet competitions. We use this position to encourage more involvement in the national competitions and our cadets and instructors alike have received much praise from the National Fire Cadet Board.

All funds raised will be split between our group and The Firefighter's Charity.
