Help for Louise Kelly
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
We want to introduce you to our loved one, Louise Kelly. We, as a family, are putting her story out there in the hopes that we reach the hearts of some generous people who can help her out.
Honestly, we could write pages and pages about how wonderful Louise is, but we will try and keep it short. Louise was born into a large Guelph Italian family with 10 siblings. For most of her young life, she took care of her siblings. Her love of children carried on, and she ran a daycare out of her home for over 37 years for countless kids. Her generous spirit, welcoming heart and loving discipline helped positively shape the lives of so many - not just the kids in her care but their families too!
With her husband Paul, they also raised 2 sons of their own. Unfortunately, Paul passed suddenly a few years ago, leaving Louise with a single income. On top of this, as you will learn more below, Louise has now been without an income or benefits since February as she has not been able to work. She has not yet qualified for disability (a process we have learned takes a long time).
During these covid years, Louise has had some ongoing major health issues, made all the more frustrating with the difficulties the medical/healthcare field has faced. Sadly, in August 2021 Louise was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Colon Cancer which has spread to her soft tissue post-surgical intervention. Louise has also been living with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia since January 2016, which has recently worsened and progressed. Her Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia has made her much more susceptible to various infections. These infections have caused various issues across her body, many requiring surgery over the years. Her teeth/gums/oral health have been a large part of her ongoing battle with chronic infections. Louise has articulated her desire for some dental care to help manage her oral pain and further deterioration of her teeth.
Louise has expressed her hope to seek spiritual guides, healers and alternative/holistic treatments to support with the day-to-day management of her severe physical pain, mental health, and other symptoms while continuing with her doctor-prescribed medications and therapies. These important additional treatments that positively impact her well-being are costly and, unfortunately, not covered through government support. She does not have the time to wait for her disability to kick in so she can start. We want her to be able to access all the available help.
We are also trying to make her home more accessible and safe to navigate while also working on completing some home repairs so she can live worry-free through this challenging time. Louise has expressed deep desires to stay in her home during her health journey, so we are doing everything we can to make that a comfortable, safe reality for her. But we need help!
In short, the money will go towards various supportive alternative treatments/therapies, dental care, and home repairs. On her behalf, we ask you to please donate any amount you can. Every dollar makes a difference. We know not everyone has extra cash to spare these days, so we are also asking for donations in the form of building materials to help her finish some of her projects/house repairs. Below is a list of what we are looking for. Please get in touch with the administrator if you have anything you can donate.
To everyone who donates, thank you doesn't seem sufficient. And if you've read this and cannot help, we understand. We are happy you took the time to read the story of this amazing woman!
