My name is Omar, founder of We Feed Gaza. We are an independent grassroots movement to feed and aid starving families in Gaza. As of today, we have distributed 160,000+ liters of fresh water, 7,200+ treats for children, 4,400+ meals, and a combination of meats, vegetables, fruits, biscuits, cheeses, juices, milk, tea, rice, eggs, lentils, pasta, hummus, tuna, bread, flour, salt, oil, sugar, yeast, jam, dough, chocolate, pastries, indomie, eggplant, tomato sauce, canned foods, medicine, vitamins, shampoo, diapers, baby starch, and toys to 11,498 families. We have successfully prepared, distributed, and cooked food aid packages almost daily!
We have food distributors in the heart of Gaza. Meet Wesam, Kemo, Ahlam, Sara, and Amal - https://linktr.ee/wefeedgaza. We are 100% organized, 100% grassroots, and 100% independent. Some of our achievements include: food aid for families cleaning rubble in Khan Younis, grilled kebabs for outdoor children, medicine for chronic heart patients, Eid Mubarak sheep for 150 families, a 16,000+ liter water drive for 300 families, and a rice bowl drive for 213 extended families of 6-12 each!
A basic meal costs $14-$17. Until recently, all donations came from my brother Alex, and I. We are not millionaires, just working-class people. We have spent over $20,000 in personal funds, wages, and savings to help feed Gaza. Now we are asking for your support, your donations, and your prayers...help us to keep going, help us to expand, and help us to inspire others!
A small donation will help others immediately. A $20 gift helps one family for 1-2 days or one child for 3-4 days. My distributors document everything, purchase goods in bulk, offset people's lost income, and spread food and aid to the poorest and "least of us". To understand fully, milk is $9/gallon, eggs are $10/dozen, beef is $9/lb, chicken is $4/lb, apples are $3/lb, bananas are $2/lb, and potatoes are $1/lb. Small efforts make a big difference!
Due to the Gaza War, people are without water, food, medicine, electricity, reliable internet, schools, hospitals, housing units, places of worship, disease is rampant, money is scarce, rubble surrounds civilians, and there are ongoing military threats. There are 1.9 million people in Gaza, it is 365 square kilometers long, 80-90% are starved or displaced, and most of them are under age 18. As you can see, we have much work to do!
Since March 31st, I have received pictures, videos, audio records, price lists, medical papers, and screenshots of conversations detailing the terrible lives of Gaza civilians. We have verified families in unsanitary tents, bombed out homes, overcrowded camps, flooded areas, and torn shacks. These are men, women, and children in filthy clothes, worn out shoes, crude kitchens, and slum spaces. Their endurance is beyond astounding!
I'm Roman Catholic. I was born to scriptural parents. As a devout Christian, I feel a true obligation to help the poor and homeless. I was touched by the stories of families struggling, children begging for food, cries of injured people, entire neighborhoods bombed, and the terrible loss of life. Shortly after Easter Sunday, I began reaching out to families on Facebook, asking for pictures and videos, and confirming their situation!
We Feed Gaza volunteers are trusted leaders, each of them are Palestinian, they receive weekly salaries, and most have experienced intense hardship. They have worked through the following: bombs and shelling, desperate and starving crowds, prolonged distances to serve more, grieving mothers and traumatized orphans, and the death of loved ones. Gaza has lost 60,000+ human beings. This campaign honors their service!
We wish to provide daily meals, healthy food items, medicine for the sick, and treats for kids with malnutrition. Some do not receive humanitarian aid for 7-8 months. We have 3 main food distributors: Wesam (Rafah), Ahlam (South Khan Younis), Kemo (East Khan Younis), and 2 junior distributors: Sara (videographer), and Amal (caregiver). Our team is young, kind, talented, courageous, resourceful, well-tested, and ready to go! Here is some of our work...
