Weight off my Shoulder for Hg

Heyya

I’m Chante and over the next month I’d like raise some awareness and much needed funds for Hyperemisis Gravidarum Australia (HGA).
I will be shaving my head on Hyperemesis Gravidarum Awareness Day - 15 May 2020!!!!

HG is honestly the hardest thing I have ever had to endure from the extreme debilitating physical symptoms to the surprising mental challenges. HG has changed my complete outlook on life but know ‘Not all storms come to disturb your life... some come to clear your path’.

I suffered from HG and Hypersalivation during my pregnancy all the way up until I gave birth.

This rare pregnancy condition left me unable to work with loss of income and my independence, had me isolated at home with nausea, vomiting and suffering from none stop hypersalivation.

I wrote my raw HG story for HGA you can read it here

What is HG?
Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a complication of pregnancy in which women experience extreme levels of nausea and vomiting. Unlike regular ‘morning sickness’, which is considered a normal or even welcome sign of early pregnancy, HG is not at all normal. Regular pregnancy sickness affects around 70-80% of pregnant women, and often goes away after the first trimester. HG is a far more severe condition and can be potentially life threatening if left untreated.

The hardest, and most challenging, part of Nausea and Vomiting in Pregnancy (NVP) and HG area dehydration and malnutrition.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum Australia (HGA) is committed to raising awareness of both Nausea and Vomiting in Pregnancy (NVP) and Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) within the public, media and health care professionals as well as fostering understanding of the conditions and their impacts.

HGA will advocate for ongoing research into the condition, its causes and better treatment options. They also seek an increase in community support for women with NVP and HG, as well as the funding of hospitals for day clinics and the education of their staff. They plan to be an agent of large-scale change in respect of the treatment of women experiencing these debilitating conditions.

Your donations will help HGA to:

Supporting women with NVP and HG
The Day-to-day costs of running the charity
Building and supporting their national network of volunteers
Their presence at conferences nationally and internationally including advertising, exhibition stands, printed materials etc.
and then Engaging and supporting health care practitioners in their work with HG and NVP sufferers in communities

Not everyone is in a fortunate enough position to donate, but my goal is to get everyone talking about HG and NVP. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this GoFundMe would mean a great deal!

Thank you for your time
