Schools + Nonprofits = Success

Donation protected
I believe all students should be given opportunities to shine no matter where they live and I know educators and families are pivotal in the academic and social success of our youth.

WeIntervene was created to empower counselors and support staff to identify, share, manage and monitor opportunities available to students and their guardians. We want schools to feel supported in their endeavors to empower the whole child. There are many nonprofits that are willing to work with the schools to help students succeed.  We want to facilitate the connection between schools and nonprofits. Some of the features of WeIntervene are as follows:

Location of nonprofit services by categories

A dashboard to show the total number of referrals made, follow-up reminders and most recent referrals made.

Dedicated page for scheduled and completed follow-ups

We are looking for funds to improve WeIntervene during our pilot stage.  We plan on creating an admin dashboard so that school leaders can pinpoint resources in their community. This will enable them to access the services and partnerships necessary to bring into the school to make sure their students receive the academic, social and emotional help they need.

Feel free to contact me for personal demos.

A little bit about me:
I was born and raised in the Bronx and went to public schools all my life. I attended DeWitt Clinton High School and eventually returned to teach Mathematics there. I was also the Dean of Discipline while teaching at DeWitt Clinton High School.

I saw a need to connect students in my urban community to resources that were down the block that could help them be more and accomplish more. With very little time in my schedule, I would often print out information on a community based organization for them and never follow up. I wanted to follow up with my students, but there was just so much to do during my school day as a teacher and Dean of Discipline.

Eventually, I left teaching to work on my archery business, Hidden Gems Archery, but I kept on feeling there was more I should be doing for our youth. I started working on WeIntervene in 2012 and introduced it in 2014. I believe in the impact it can have in changing lives.  I hope you will contribute to our work.
