Weisman Family Fund

Our beloved Dave Weisman, retired Director of Operations at Santa Barbara Charter School, passed away following a long battle with cancer. Dave was a founding parent of Santa Barbara Charter School from 1993, who then was hired in 1998 to be our Director of Operations and PE teacher until his retirement in 2018. Dave was 68 years old.

Dave was such an amazing person who exuded extreme optimism and joy throughout his life. He touched the hearts of everyone he met, and educated generations of SBCS students in the areas of sportsmanship, service, and community. He was the face of our school for many years, offering tours for incoming families and celebrating the core values of SBCS in his stories and actions.

Dave left behind his wife Anne of 42 years and his three children, Danny, Benji, and Carly, along with many other family members and friends.

His medical expenses went well beyond what medical insurance covered. We would like to ease the burden on his family by collecting donations to cover medical and final expenses.
