Welcome, baby Couch!
Jenna and Mike need our support to help bring their newest baby home!
Meet the Couch family. Jenna was my roommate in seminary and Mike, my roommate-in-law. They need us now. Out of the blue they learned that Kayleigh’s biological family is expecting and that they hope this child can grow up alongside Kayleigh in the Couch family.
That’s right - the Couch’s are expecting again! But instead of the usual 9 months of preparation - like most families get - they only have weeks to prepare and the cost of adoption is great. This new little one is due February 1st.
One adoption - let alone - two adoptions in a lifetime are expensive. They need to find about $26,000 to pay for a home study, lawyer fees, travel to Florida and accommodations there. If baby is due early they will be responsible for costs of cradle care/foster care, and so much more. In addition - all the costs associated with readying their home for a new baby are a part of their anticipated expenses.
The Couch’s could not say no, of course. How could anyone? If you are able, could you help take the edge off this great expense and help bring baby Couch home to some loving parents who are so ready to raise up another child in this world?
Anyone who knows them knows their struggle with infertility was heartbreaking. They are a part of the one in eight families struggling with infertility in this country. After struggling with failed a failed fertility treatment (IUI) they looked to adoption. As it turns out that would be a difficult road, too.
In 2018 they began their journey toward adoption. They went through the heartache of finding a match - receiving “no,” after “no,” after “no... at one point 13 “no’s” in a row from biological mothers.
And then... there was a yes...
“Hi! I’m Kayleigh Couch, and I was born on June 18th (my mommy’s birthday!!) in Florida. My mommy and daddy, Jenna and Mike, will be flying down on Sunday and they’ll get to meet and adopt me on Monday!!! Hope to meet you soon!!!”
Jenna and Mike are incredible people and parents. Anyone who has watched Kayleigh grow up can usually hear laughter in the background and see dancing.
Thank you for helping Kayleigh’s birth family do the incredible thing in sharing their child with the world. Thank you for helping to make it a little easier to bring Kayleigh’s brother or sister home to two incredible people. Any amount you can share would be appreciated. Prayers are so appreciated, too.
