Let’s welcome our new neighbors with a welcome picnic at Fort Williams on July 4th from 1-5pm.
Transportation: Complimentary buses will be provided for asylum seekers at the Expo and Ft. Williams on the top and bottom of the hour beginning at 1:00pm and ending at 5:00pm. Financial support is needed to cover the $1000 cost of buses.
Food: Ice cream! We need help with refrigeration ideas and volunteers are needed to serve ice cream throughout the afternoon.
Community members: Please consider standing at the park entrance with WELCOME signs from 1-2pm to welcome the first two buses. Bring your own signs.
Volunteers are needed to help support the day with time and talent. Bring kites, balls, outdoor games, arts and crafts, face painting, musical instruments, etc. We also need volunteers to arrive at 12 to help set up and stay until 6 to clean up.
Rain: In case of rain, the event will be cancelled. A cancellation announcement will be made on the Facebook event page by 10am on July 4th.
