Help Kim Get Into Her New Home

Donation protected
My name is Logan and Kim is my mother. I have created this campaign for her.

Anyone who has met Kim will have remembered her from that moment on. She's the type of person to tell you how it is and give you the shoes off her feet.

You might go to church with her, work with her, or just know her as a friend. I'm here to tell you a bit about her life when she goes home from church, or work, or a Sunday lunch with a friend. Kim goes home to a trailer that is falling apart. She can only use half of it. The living room, bathroom, and bedroom. The kitchen is not functional, the second bedroom and bathroom have become so bad off with floor rot that she can't even walk in them. She hasn't cooked a meal in her trailer in almost 10 years. This is the reason she has never had you over for lunch. This is the reason we have never had Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas at her house. My son, her grandson, has never been able to spend the night and help warm her home with memories. He has never set foot inside. She doesn't have central heat or AC. Just a window unit in the summer and a kerosene heater in the winter. When she goes home she walks into depression. What a way to start and end your day.

I've been begging her to take the steps to get out of that trailer and into something safer, more secure, and something she can be proud of. She was too afraid to apply for a loan for a new trailer thinking it wouldn't happen. I just wanted her to try - so that she could have a new home in her name on her land.

She recently paid off her land and freed up some income. This year she got a decent raise so I used that to push her into applying for a loan.... AND SHE GOT IT! Her payments would fall at a price she could afford without worry. Everything was falling into place from clearing the land, hauling off the existing trailer, putting the new one on, connecting the plumbing and electrical, to now being able to afford payments. When we got the final call from the bank we found out that she needed to have a down payment.. this was not expected. The only thing that stands between Kim and her new home is a down payment. No longer the fear, no longer the lack of means to make monthly payments.... but the down payment. That down payment is going to be around $4600. I set this gofundme goal at $5000 to cover fees set in place with using gofundme. Anything given above the set amount will be used for new furniture as everything from her current home will be hauled off to the dump with the trailer - aside from her clothes, TV and a few sentimental items. This is a completely fresh start. A start she deserves. This home comes with all new appliences, central heat and air, and a new quality of life. My wife and I have already taken the lead on new furniture and small housewares. And again - anything extra will go towards all of that.

We have 90 days to move forward with the approval. We don't have $4600 on hand but we have already begun saving - 90 days isn't enough time for us to save it all alone. "You have not, because you ask not.."

This platform is the best way for many to give a little. Asking for money isn't easy but her quality of life isn't either. This is where she is and she's leaning on those she loves and those who love her. This is what she needs to boost her morale and to finally prove to herself that she is worth something. Let's make this happen!!!

Below you'll find some images of the outisde of her trailer. The inside is far worse and would be too embarssing for her to post.
