WelcomeNST is a consortium of Massachusetts nonprofits - including Project M25, Inc., The Shapiro Foundation, and Ascentria Care Alliance - and over 100 families who have organized "Neighborhood Support Teams" to welcome Afghan refugees recently evacuated from Afghanistan to our communities. Many of these refugees  risked their lives supporting U.S. troops in Afghanistan over the past 20 years.  Together with Ascentria Care Alliance, we are preparing to receive an estimated 550 Afghan refugees in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Most of these newcomers will be arriving with nothing but the clothes they are wearing and will need assistance with housing, furniture, clothing, food, transportation, education and more.
