Welfare fund for Rutherford paramedics' lost wages
Donation protected
On 20th May 2024, 10 paramedics at Rutherford Ambulance Station took a stand against NSW Ambulance’s lack of maintained emergency coverage for the Rutherford community. Upon signing on for shift at 10:45am, two paramedics were told by NSW Ambulance management to go home because they were participating in action that protected the community. In solidarity, the remaining 8 other paramedics stood down with the crew, but still continued to respond to life threatening cases (which they weren’t paid for).
This is a welfare fund where the local community can assist the Paramedics who took a stand for their local area. Money from the fund goes to assist these Paramedics pay their bills, mortgages, etc, that they may not be able to pay due to the loss of wages. Money from the fund will only go to recover money lost after tax. Any excess funds will go towards the Rutherford station’s tea fund, however people should stop donating once the target amount is reached.
