Wellness at Rose Farm

Donation protected

Eco-balance and harmony, learning from the wisdom traditions, working for the health of people, the natural world and our planet.

Wellness and joy are at the heart of what we are building on this farm in North Yorkshire, England.
The vision is to provide the highest quality on-line and on-site resources for people of all ages to benefit their health: physically, mentally, spiritually.
We are a not-for-profit, new "start up" and a social enterprise, incorporated as a CIC (Community Investment Company).

Recreation and re-creation.
Mindfulness, Yoga, painting, writing, walking, cycling, archery, herbal lore, foraging, crafting, gardening, cookery, music, bird-watching, nature trails, meditation, voice-work, breath-work, retreat, counselling, prayer … and more besides.
Drawing from a wealth of knowledge and skills in workshops, on courses and through our on-line resources.
Offering opportunities for people to rest and reflect on their personal journey through one of our retreat days.

Our gardens
We are using permaculture principles to create our gardens and encouraging anyone who wants to learn about working with their own piece of earth (even if its something as small as a window box) to grow food in a way that works with the seasons, the wildlife and all in the natural world.

We plan to give freely where we can
We are using our little piece of earth here to facilitate wellness (health, healing, welfare, clean food, care for our world) with a host of workshops and speakers on-line or on one of our partner sites. A percentage of profits will go towards our outreach work. Our vision includes giving to those whose resources are limited including schools, special schools and those children who aren’t even allowed in school …. There are many good stories of lives turned around and given a fresh start out there.

We are asking you to help us facilitate the work here, please
The money is needed to enable us to match existing funding to purchase the property and land outright as well as to develop a former farm building on site.  In addition, funds will enable us to design and plant our gardens and purchase teaching resources, to build a Walipini (an underground greenhouse) with hydroponics and educational resources. The funds give us a first step up the ladder to working with an educational partner in setting up our apprenticeship programme as well as to create jobs. Funds will also enable us to build a green-roofed, cob and straw-bale building in one of the paddocks enabling others to learn about this efficient, economic, safe and extremely successful way of building. (Did you know that an entire council house estate has been built in this way in Lincolnshire?)

At a time when the environment and climate is at the forefront of our minds; at a time when the current global pandemic has impacted so many people's lives; at a time when so many resources are stretched and so many adults and children are struggling with mental health issues; at a time when people are looking for ways to live with different priorities and make quality choices for themselves and their loved ones ... Our passion is to help; to do what we can.
Your support will be like partnering with us in this.
Thank you so much.
