Wellness Tent 4 Oceti Sakowin Camp

Donation protected
Something very beautiful is happening right now up in Standing Rock Souix Reservation in North Dakota, people have come from all walks of life to stand and fight against the huge pipeline being put in. There are representatives from indigenous tribes across this nation and across the world.
This is a show of solidarity in honor of protecting Mother Earth and the elements of Water, Air, Fire, Mineral, and all the animals and creatures that live on the planet besides humans. It is a paradigm shift for all of us, people are no longer willing to sit by and watch as Mother Earth and Father Sky are destroyed.
I personally recieved a lot of healing from being in camp sharing teachings and songs while also recieving so much love from the people there.  We are united by one thing and that is the love for the Earth.
While I was in the Oceti Sakowin Camp (Seven Council Fires) and I saw a great need for a wellness tent. There is an flimsy herbal tent that is very small and standing room only, they need a large warm space where people can come in and be treated.
My vision is to have a place for healing, whatever healers may be on camp at the moment can use this space to help the water protectors. I spoke with Amelia the woman who has been running the herbal tent during my time there and she confirmed the need for a bigger space.
People need counseling and treatment for the short term stress of dealing with assaults from the dapl and police and the long term oppression and disconnection from their roots and ways of life.
Wellness classes could be offered in the space as well as all other healing modalities. We have healers arriving at camp, but nowhere to practice. There is a need for this as a community space. We may need a wood burning stove as well.
Anyone who has yurts or massage tables they would be able to donate would also be greatly appreicated.

Thanks so much for your support! Mitakuye Oauysin
