Wells Vineyard Foodbank
Wells Vineyard Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to local people in need. We support around 150 people each week and have to spend over £2 000 every month on fresh food and essentials such as dry goods and toiletries. We urgently need more funds as we do not receive any regular government funding for our work.
Our clients are referred to us by agencies such as the Job Centre, Citizens Advice and GPs. Around 1 in 7 are in work, or live with someone in work. Many are on Universal Credit and are waiting for 5 weeks for their benefits payments to begin.
We are expecting client numbers to increase this year due to the cost of living crisis. Costs are expected to rise by around 10%, but benefits will only increase by around 3%, pushing more people into poverty. Without more funds and donations in kind, we will be unable to continue to support either our current clients or the increasing number of clients that are sure to be referred to us in the near future. For many people, living month to month, one unexpected bill or unanticipated change in circumstances can plunge them into financial crisis.
You can help by donating today to WELLS VINEYARD FOODBANK (WELLS VINEYARD CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP). Please give what you can - £5 will make a huge difference to local people in need.
