"We Love Trish & Hate Cancer" Fund

Donation protected

As we sit here in the waiting room of Emerson Hospital's Surgical Center, I can't help but think back to when this battle all started, a little over a year ago.

Trish told us she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2015, just days after my bridal shower; she didn't want to upset anyone or put a damper on my “special day” by informing her family of something she had been carrying around all by herself for months. If you know Trish, and her tendency to always put others before herself, this comes as no surprise.

Since her diagnosis, our mom has been an absolute rockstar. Throughout enduring countless tests, intense rounds of chemo, painful neuropathy, tremors, lymphedema, physical therapy, and now, (finally!) her mastectomy, Trish has never lost her sense of humor or willingness to fight this vicious and unrelenting disease.

While our mom has done her best to remain the smiling, thoughtful, and selfless "Trish" we all know and love, her diagnosis has taken so much from her, including her ability to work and bring home an income at this stage in her battle. And unfortunately, she still has a long road of radiation and future surgery ahead of her.

This is where we hope those who have been lucky enough to call Trish a friend (or in many cases, family) can make a difference to help ease a burden she shouldn't have to be worrying about with everything else she’s currently going through.

Christopher and I (and especially Trish!) are overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of support our family has received during this time and are beyond thankful for all the prayers and blessings that are being sent our way.

We never cease to be amazed by the kindness of others and sincerely wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have been there for us and continue to do so, in ways big and small (however, they’re all big to us).

Trish has always been a strong believer in karma; let’s show her just what good karma can do!

All our love and thanks,

Merideth and Chris
