Wendi (Riley) and Coulton Thorpe

Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Stacey and my little sister is Wendi. I would like start a fundraiser for my sister and her husband. Wendi and Coulton met in 2019 then April 12, 2020 Coulton was told he has cirrhosis of the liver. Coulton worked hard trying not to drink hoping his liver would heal on its own and everything seemed to be doing well. So in Dec 2021 they planned their wedding in Colorado and that’s when things turned for the worse. Coulton ended up being hospitalized the entire time and was released in time for the wedding. Wedding plans were shuffled but the doctors released Coulton for a short time with the understanding he would need to be admitted once back in Iowa.

Since January 2022 he has been in and out of the hospital with multiple blood transfusions. Coulton was recommended to University of Iowa Hospital to get evaluated for the transplant list. Coulton was told by UI to get evaluated by other hospitals to better his chances of getting on the list.

As of today, they were told “permanent no” from University of Iowa. They have since been traveling to Wisconsin and Minnesota hoping and praying they will accept him and put him on their transplant list. My sister is still working and traveling to be with him as much as she can. They will be traveling back to both Wisconsin and Minnesota at the end of August and first part of September.

I started this page to help my sister and her family with the multiple expenses they are both facing. This is to help with not just the traveling expenses and hotels, but also the hospital bills that continue to accrue. Thank in advance for any assistance you can provide.
