Wendi’s Liver transplant recovery
Donation protected
If you know Wendi, you will know she is vibrant, creative, loving, always one to help others, the first to laugh, and the first one to listen. This 46 year old mom of 4 (& grandma to 1) has been in and out of the hospital since the beginning of January. Her last admission on February 10th she was given her diagnosis of liver failure. She very quickly deteriorated and it was determined she would only live if she had a transplant.
On February 20th 2023, Wendi got the miracle of a 2nd chance at life by receiving a full liver transplant.
Not many people can say they get a 2nd chance at life, but she does. While this transplant was literally life saving and priceless, the expert care, extended hospital stay (including 2 ICU stays & 3 surgeries), and the expected post hospital inpatient physical therapy rehab stay has amounted to an
astonishing cost.
Her husband, Kevin, has had to take a lot of time off work to be by her side and the everyday bills are piling up. He is also trying to be the rock for his 3 girls as they have had to watch their mom get so sick so quickly. It’s hard to ask for help, but the family could definitely use some help up during this hard time.
The money raised from this fundraiser would help take some pressure off of Kevin so he can continue to learn how to care for Wendi post operatively. They have been warned the first couple of months are very intense and he needs to be there for Wendi and his girls.
Thank you for considering and for any donations.
