Wendy Kinlaw (Pooh)

As most of you already know, Wendy was diagnosed with Ménière’s as well as Lyme disease some time back.  On Thanksgiving night Wendy had a spell of vertigo and took a hard fall. She was transported to Novant and admitted the same evening.  A CT scan conducted has shown that she has a hairline fracture to her pelvic area. They also found arthritis in her hips that has developed from the Lyme Disease.  Also, an MRI was conducted and revealed that she has a torn hamstring (still attached) as well as several other tendons & ligaments that have been stretched due to the fall.  The test showed 2 herniated disk in her lower back; her L4  & L5.  I can’t even begin to imagine her pain.

Wendy’s Doctor  recommended that she go to a rehabilitation center upon her discharge from the hospital. However, due to COVID-19  concerns, Wendy asked her Dr. to please reconsider and allow her to discharge with the intent of in-home therapy. She understands that her road to recovery will be a long one and that physical therapy is a must.

On December 1, 2020 Wendy was discharged from the hospital and is currently staying with her mother, Cecilia Kinlaw. The doctor insisted on in home health/therapy; which was agreed upon. Wendy will begin physical therapy Friday December 4th. She has a follow up appointment with her Dr. in the next 5 or so days to access her torn hamstring. If there has been no improvement, then she will need to have surgery.  As of now Wendy does not know what the future looks like. We do however know that she will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time.  We all know that bills don’t stop for anyone.  So we have high hopes that people will have giving hearts.

It is also important for us to know that she has future upcoming appointments at Duke Medical Center with the Neurologist to address her ongoing Lyme disease.  These trips are not cheap, as gas; lodging and food is needed.

I would like everyone to know that it took me a little time to convince Wendy to allow me to create a Go-Fund-Me.  She was very reluctant and didn’t want to ask for help.   As many know, Wendy is usually the one out asking for donations to help those less fortunate  and wanting to help others in their time of need.  I realize that the holidays are approaching and many are out of work. So, please do not feel obligated to donate but also know that no amount is too small. If you are unable to donate would you please be kind enough to share this post to allow as many people as possible to view it.

Please everyone pray for Wendy; her children and her entire family. We all are hoping that she has a speedy recovery and can get back to her normal self.
