Wendy Schaffer needs our help ♥️

Hello everyone, my name is Kristyna Poska and I am looking to ease a little bit of Wendy Schaffer’s mind as she battles her way through brain cancer.

I have known Wendy for many years, basically through-out my nursing career. She has worked by Dr. Caucci’s (orthopedic surgeon) side for approximately 20 years. I would see her with patient’s once in a great while while I was a floor nurse but now that I work with peri-operative services, I see Wendy a couple times a week. Wendy would do anything for anyone. She has a kind, caring heart and this is why I am starting this fundraiser. ♥️

Wendy was working all the way up until Tuesday, August 2nd. She was complaining of a headache for a month and was seeking help, thinking it was her blood pressure or sinuses. The headache never went away. Wednesday, August 3rd she came to WMH ER to find out this whole time that she has a brain tumor. Wendy was life-flighted out to Geisinger CMC that night , and the next day life-flighted to Geisinger Wyoming Valley to proceed with surgery. Wendy went through a 10 hour brain surgery, and then later found out she had a pulmonary embolism and needed another surgery for a filter to be put in. She is now at Good Shepard Rehab (hopefully not for long) to gain some strength back. And also… to learn some things over again, like texting

Wendy is out of work indefinitely at this time. She needs her friends and families support! All funds will go directly to Wendy for any type of bills she needs help to pay. I love you and pray for you daily Wendy. Just know you are not alone, ever.
