Wendy's FIGHT Against Cancer

Donation protected
Wendy Peregrine (Schaefer) is a vibrant, beautiful, compassionate, loving and one of the most caring people on Earth.  I am her friend and co-worker and I am ready to FIGHT for her.
On December 2nd 2014 my beautiful friend's life changed forever.  She received the terrible diagnosis that would change everything and turned her life upside down.  This amazing nurse and mother of 3 beautiful girls learned she has stage 4 Signet Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma of the appendix.  This is an aggressive and very rare type of cancer, the rarest of the appendiceal cancers.  In a 25 year study there were only 70 reported cases in USA.  This crappy cancer is frequently in late stages of the disease when it is discovered.  One of the most frustrating things is formal studies have not been done to demonstrate the advantage of the different types of chemo due to the rarity of the disease.  THAT SUCKS!!
In January 2015 she underwent a major debulking surgery and HIPEC chemo, which is a type that is put in your abdomen during surgery.  After her long and painful recovery, she came back to work as a nurse while taking outpatient chemo.  She is one the toughest and strongest women I have ever seen.  Most days  she felt awful had terrible side effects from chemo and still drove 40 miles to work almost everyday.  She never complains, she walks through those hospital doors to help others feel better. Her commitment she has for her patients is awe inspiring.
On Febuaury 27th 2016 Wendy was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction.  We prayed that it would resolve, but unfortunately it did not. On March 4th she underwent another surgery.  The surgeon was able to fix the blockage, but unfortunately they found new cancer that he could not remove.  So that brings us here watching this beautiful soul fight.
Wendy is not the kind of person to ask for help, so I'm here to share her story.  She has been there for so many people now it's time to give back.  I would love to help relieve some of her financial stress. Hospital bills, medications, car and house payments, utility bills, gas for driving to her Drs apps. 120 miles away ect.... This is such a huge financial burden.
She always puts everyone before herself, now it's time for Wendy to be #1.

A wonderful quote from a magnificent man who also fought appendix cancer.
"When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live.  So LIVE. FIGHT like hell and when you get too tired to FIGHT, then lay down and rest and let somebody else FIGHT for you"
