Help Wendy's Fight for Life

I am Rachel, a long-time spirit sister and friend of Wendy, an incredible friend to many, a mother to one, and a valued community member. Wendy is a powerful woman who has conquered difficult circumstances throughout her life. She is an inspiration to all who know her. In June 2023, Wendy came face-to-face with a devastating reality. She was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma (stage IV B) with metastasis to bone and adrenal gland; and malignant pleural effusion. She also learned she has EGFR del 19, a genetic variation that can expedite tumor growth. Wendy is one of the most intuitive, kindest, and loving humans you will ever meet. She expresses so much gratitude for those who have extended love, prayers, assistance, and other acts of kindness. However, the financial burden of this diagnosis and ongoing treatment is mounting and Wendy needs our help!

She has a resilient spirit, full of love and light. She embraces every opportunity to sing, dance, and celebrate life. Wendy’s journey has pointed her in a different direction where she continues her exploration bravely and with humility and grace. Since she was originally diagnosed at the Cleveland Clinic, Wendy continues to confront a relentless schedule of chemotherapy, radiation, thoracentesis, surgical procedures, appointments, and emergency department visits. While these have taken a considerable toll on her body and breath, Wendy propels herself in a manner that exudes hope for a cure and a better tomorrow.

Since June, copays for expensive procedures, medications, and transportation have continued to surpass her available resources. Alleviating the financial impact of specialized care and treatment will allow Wendy to prioritize her healing.
