Help ship our books to Guyana!

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Matt Cusimano and I'm a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Guyana '12-'14). Over the course of service, I worked hand in hand with a rural coastal village called Sandvoort in Guyana, South America. They are a proud people, and the oldest former slave village in the country. They requested advice on assembling a first ever community library in the region. After demonstrating significant need and desire for the project, I networked with a handful of NGOs to gather the minimum funding needed for the project (labor was donated by the village), plus a handful of books! It took us a full two years to build and open the library. Yet, after all of our efforts, they are still quite short on materials, so I'm seeking funding to ship them 750 lbs of books we've already collected.

All books have been collected in my hometown of Chicago, IL by gracious donors, they're packed, and ready to be shipped, all we need is the shipping costs covered, which I have budgeted for $750 (ship via USPS media mail from Chicago to New York City, where they will be loaded onto a shipping container to Guyana, and a truck would meet them at the port and haul them over 1.5 hours down the coastline to Sandvoort).

We've come so far! Now we're just in our final stretch!
