Wentworth Elementary School 8th Grade Class Trip
Donation protected
The Wentworth Elementary School class of 2024 needs help paying for transportation for their class trip to Hersheypark in Hershey, PA. Over the past two school years, these students have been studying formal research presentation design through the lens of becoming a mock roller coaster engineering design team. They are responsible for an exhaustive amount of research and are currently spending class time reading patent files, researching forces and motion, designing and simulating their ride and preparing a formal design pitch presentation for teachers, parents, and community members at the end of this academic year.
They would like to spend the few days before their big presentation doing some last-minute on site practical research at one of the biggest roller coaster parks in the northeast, namely Hersheypark. They have spent nearly every weekend fundraising at local events including farmer's markets, sports events, and school dances but as transportation quotes come in, they realized that they still need about $3,000 to achieve their end goal. They still have several scheduled events to go including pie sales, pancake breakfasts, and even a video game tournament but they would also like to reach out to friends and family from out of town to be able to contribute as well. The funds raised here on GoFundMe will be used to cover transportation costs and if we overfund, the students would like to go to Lake Compounce in CT on the way home from Hershey as a little bonus stop. Thank you so much for your generosity and we'll update here any time we hit major milestones.
