We’re in a real bind, now with no car

My name is Lindsay, and my dad and I are in a pretty bad situation. A few days ago, my car became totally undriveable due to problems it’s already been having but it’s finally caused oil to leak into the coolant reservoir which could mean the oil cooler needs to be replaced or, worse, could be a blown head gasket plus everything else that’s wrong with it like fuel pump issues, rough idling, engine issues, etc. The car has been giving us problems since we’ve had it and our mechanic said we need to just trade it in and get something else at this point because all we’re doing is throwing money at a lemon car. And now we have nothing, as my dads car also threw a rod a few months ago and needs major repairs as well so we were down to only my car. With his cancer diagnosis a few months ago, we are having to go back and forth to his doctor/chemo infusion appointments frequently. I had just got another job a few weeks ago and now I can’t go to work because of my car. We’re struggling to make ends meet as it is and barely getting by at all and now I can’t work. I need to trade in my car and get something else so I go back to work and try to help us. I hate asking for help but I don’t know what else to do now because we’re stuck big time. Anything helps..
