West Asheville Disaster and Donation Relief Clinic
Donation protected
My husband, John, is the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Greeneville Community Hospital in Greene County, East Tennessee -- just over the mountain from Asheville, North Carolina.
Hurricane Helene has caused widespread flooding and disaster through Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. Asheville, North Carolina has been particularly hard-hit and has lost vital infrastructure.
On Wednesday, John made a trip into Asheville with our friend, Meredith Shrader, a local Physician's Assistant. They saw first-hand the immediate needs in Asheville and were able to meet with disaster response leadership.
Sometime in the next few days, they will be opening a temporary disaster clinic in West Asheville. They are preparing to help the community in whatever ways they are needed. This will include free medical care and donation distribution to disaster victims.
However, there are other things that the team will need. All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go to help with this Clinic. Any remaining funds will go to directly support people affected by this disaster.
