Dear Friends, Wrestling Families, and Former Wrestlers,
Every year we try and take as many kids, regardless of ability to pay, to the University of Missouri wrestling camp. This year that number is 12, plus 3 coaches.
Not only is Missouri an outstanding wrestling program, but its core philosophy is excellence through character. "Tiger Style" is how they compete on and off the mat. Wrestling technique and the development of character is taught at the highest levels to all our campers. This is exactly the same philosophy at West Carteret Wrestling and why we travel so far to summer camp. It is a 9 day immersion into this disciplined lifestyle that has shown to shape and mold a young person at a crucial age.
The cost is high...$1500 per camper. The results even higher. Not only has produced state champs, multiple state place-winners and team conference championships, but more importantly, our graduates have continued their excellence into the next chapter of their lives. Many have pursued their dreams in our military, with every branch well represented by our alumni. The rest are in college, some even continuing their wrestling careers earning both scholarship and individual recognition. All are quality citizens and are surely becoming our leaders of the future. This is truly an investment in our young wrestlers lives!
We have been running several fundraising programs but the goal of $8800 is the balance needed, so all who want to go, can go. Please help us make it happen again!
