West Midlands Fundraising for Cancer Research UK

On 16th September 2023, the McArthurGlen West Midlands team will be completing a 10k shine night walk along with team members from Jack Wolfskin, Asics, Kouzina Greek, Nike, Lacoste, Incentive FM, Securitas & The London Hubbers.

For one night, the streets are ours. Stride by stride we make our way through the lights of Birmingham City and get closer to beating cancer.

About Cancer Research

1 in 2 people born in the UK after 1960 will get cancer in their lifetime*. Our research saves lives.

Over the last 40 years, Cancer Research UK's work has helped double breast cancer survival, we were a key player in the development of radiotherapy, and we played a role in developing 8 of the world’s top 10 cancer drugs.

Although we are proud of our achievements, there is still more to be done. The money you raise will help to bring us closer to our ambition of 3 in 4 people surviving their cancer for 10 years or more by 2034.

£100 - could fund a PhD student for the day, giving them the skills they'll need to make the research breakthroughs of the future.

£200 - could fund a team of 10 cancer information nurses for the day, on hand to offer confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.

£400 - could fund a lab technician for one week, ensuring researchers are equipped with everything they need to beat cancer.

£800 - buys a water bath so that our scientists can heat up experiments to kick-start chemical reactions.
