Furthest West to Furthest East Cycle ride
Hello my name is Robin Davies (Knocking on 70) and I am about to start a solo cycle ride in support of Penrith and District red squirrel group
The ride is a little over 600 miles and I will be doing it on my 43 year old Raleigh Royale Touring cycle that has had a modification due to a left hand/arm injury I sustained about 7 years ago.
starting at the Lighthouse at Ardnamurchan Point in Scotland (Furthest West) and then travelling through or close to the following places:
Pass of Glencoe
Loch Lomond
Through Glasgow
Moffat
Carlisle
Kirkby Stephen
Leyburn (via Tan Hill, the highest point on the trip)
Ripon
York
Selby
Hull
Kings Lynn
Norwich
and the ride ends at Ness Point Lowestoft (Furthest East)
I’m aiming at 50 miles a day with a rest day at home in Langwathby.
You can make a difference by donating today to Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group. Founded in 1994 by local people concerned that they would lose their red squirrels. The group became a registered charity in 2006.
