Hi, I'm Philip Torrens. I've been sea kayaking seriously for over three decades, and I've been a sea kayak instructor for several years. One of the ways I give back to the sea kayaking community is to help run

westcoastpaddler, an online community for current and aspiring kayakers on the Washington State-British Columbia-Alaska coast.

I've spent several hundred dollars over the last several years keeping the electrons on at westcoastpaddler. I'd like to defray some of my past costs and also future ones, which include software and search function upgrades, and honorariums for volunteer IT services.

I'd like to keep the years of accumulated wisdom in our threads and the access to the experts in our hivemind free for all, with no differing access levels and no subscription required.
