Supporting Mark Westovers fight against ALS

Hello, my name is Mark Westover. Three years ago I was diagnosed with ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. This devastating diagnosis of a disease with no cure has left our family in shock, but we are determined to face this challenge head-on. When I was diagnosed the doctors could not give a clear timeline of how quickly this disease will progress or how long I would have to live. I have been on an experimental drug that has helped slow the progression of this disease and because of this I have been able to be around to witness huge milestones of my loved ones and spend precious time with my family that I may have not been able to get without it. For this I am extremely grateful. However, ALS is a cruel condition that gradually robs individuals of their ability to walk, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. As the disease progresses, the cost of specialized medical equipment, home modifications, and ongoing medical care becomes overwhelming. This is where your support can make a significant difference.

We have created this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate the financial burden that accompanies ALS.
