*** UPDATE STORY BELOW***

"We are the guardians of the global community and we want to do something nice for the kids!" #WeWillRizeTogether

Marvel's recent smash hit release of the fictional African Superhero Black Panther has caused shockwaves over the world inspiring an unprecedented level of cultural awareness, pride and unity, a wave we very much want to expose as many black African Caribbean children of the next generation too.

With your help, the #WeWillRizeTogether team aim to take at least [phone redacted] students and their teachers in 3 countries to private red carpet viewings. The goal isn't just to take the students to see the film... but to engage the students with an open floor follow-up Q&A' discussion conducive to creating a strong, confident positive mental image.

Due to the phenomenal public response organisations, institutes and public figures have reached out to be involved which promises to help create an unforgettable experience for the students.

Take Me to Wakanda!

Mission

- Step 1.) We plan on taking 250 students and 15 staff and faculty members starting with the Haile Selassie High School in Jamaica, the only school to be donated to the diaspora by an African King H.I.M Haile Selassie.

- Step 2.) After the success of the Jamacia screening, we'll do London. Both Chaka & Axsal have worked in predominantly Black African Caribbean Schools in London and a decision and arrangements will be made with a selected High School to take 250 for their students and 15 of their staff and faculty.

- Step 3.) The final stop on the #WeWillRizeInWakanda Tour is Akosombo, Ghana. Again 250 students and 15 members of staff and faculty of the Wood World Mission School will be invited and catered for the evening.

We're not only taking 750-100 students in three countries to see Black Panther, we will also be hosting a pre & post-screening workshop including an open-air discussion with a live panel of academics, influencers, artists and entertainers.

Why
Black Panther in its entirety has already been dubbed an instant smash hit and has been hailed as a massive success for its fantastic effort to represent the diversity, culture and excellence of Africa.

Alongside an entertaining storyline comes different layers and levels of thought, concepts and moral conflicts of interests which can be utilised as a tool to engage with the children of the next generation.

Positive Reinforcement - We don't see this as a simple opportunity to include the students in the latest trend, but a chance to engage the students from a totally different perspective they've ever been presented with before. For as much as this is a day for the students to enjoy, it will be a lesson, Q&A's and open panel discussions will follow ups's

PLUS - The cast is all Black, we're tired of seeing films where the people that look like us are cast as slaves, prostitutes, drug addicts and the range of other esteem destroying stereotypical roles we see beamed onto the big screen. Our children need to see that they can be heroes too!

Time Frames & Costings

*Now that we have reached our first goal (£6000) we are just preparing to deliver the first stage of the project, we have begun the process to withdraw the funds so that we can pay for the venue hire and arrange the transport.*

Jamacia - Our first milestone is £6,000 which will provide enough resources to transport, buy tickets & refreshments for the students. Between the school and the team, we have arranged the viewing on 14th March 2018 at the Carib Cinema in Kingston.

England- Next, when we get to London our milestone will be £6,500 which will provide transport, tickets and refreshments for the students. We are in talks with BFI IMAX Southbank which is the largest cinema screen in Europe on the weekdays between 16th and 23rd March 2018.

Ghana- Finally, transporting 250 students and 15 of the staff and faculty members in Akosombo Ghana will cost in excess of £4,500. The ODG team are coordinating on the ground the most convenient venue to take the students and we expect to see this through between the 23rd and 30th of March.

We want to make this a special occasion for the students, something they will never forget, almost like a Prom night only with some self-empowering, community unifying lessons attached. So in addition to the transport, tickets and refreshments, the raised funds will also be used to help provide and customise cultural outfits to attend in!

But one step at a time
....

The Bigger Picture - For those of you just hearing of the #WeWillRizeTogehter project here's the vision...

We want to create a safe and comfortable environment for youths on the continent and in the diaspora to learn and connect with each other through the responsible use of technology and a shared curriculum that embraces their culture and identity in preparation for their own evolution. This is a call to action to a global village of inspired individuals to collaborate on a project that will bridge a gap and outlive us all.

Why are we linking up?
Because together we are stronger, we believe that the people are generous and want to give but don't trust big charities because they take ages to get jobs done and you never see where the money went! We have a plan! We need 20,000 people to donate £25, in order to reach our target of £500,000. And with our collective talent, skill sets and social media following, that shouldn't be too hard. Right?

The money will be split equally between the school that Chronixx wants to refurbish and the School that Fuse wants to build. Donisha will be helping to make sure that we find sustainable ways to manifest and manage this project from the grassroots up. While, Chaka will continue to travel in between both Nations as an ambassador, building a bridge and keep the global village informed with videos and images!

Goals
"It takes a village to raise a child. " Our aim is to promote and enhance the total physical, intellectual, social, cultural and spiritual development of all students who come within its sphere of influence of each school, thereby making them fit to live and fit to live with.

- Raise £250,000 per school.
-Over the next 5 years, we will educate hundreds of children and employ many people from the local communities.
-Equip the school with proper facilities and modern tools that will help in the advancement of their knowledge in the scope of the world.
-Compliment traditional education with a number of vocational and creative skills such a carpentry, cosmetology, culinary, manufacturing natural hair & body products, filmmaking, music and sewing to name a few so, that they will be equipped as soon as they leave with the skills to go out and earn a living and tell their story.

We need your help. Let's come together as a global village, using our capital, our resources, and our influence to give all these students a brighter future.

What makes this project different?
We are linking up the internet to collaborate in a process that will teach each of us a new set of skills, and empower young people in adverse situations to be able to affors and enjoy getting a good education. We are creating a new model of co-existence, collaboration and come-unity building.

This project will:
- Employ local builders
- Empower local teachers
- Provide employment to families of the communities.
- Create a safe space for visitors to contribute to works while on vacation.
- Use local resources, including wood and other building materials thereby empowering the local economy.
- Create a memorable experience for all concerned.

We will continue to visit both schools in Jamaica and Ghana to document the process construction and completion. This is such and exciting project, there is enough money out there to get this done. We have no big overheads, we have no big marketing campaign. Every penny will go into funding this project! Keep an eye on our socials for updates, we’re building as we go along!
