Tim was a perfectly healthy 37 year old man. A husband and father of two with a third on the way. He's a fifth generation tool and die maker and was eagerly trying to finish an apprenticeship in that field. He's a fourth degree black belt and has participated in demonstrations and has helped teach and guide young students in the art. Life was good.
Come November 2018, everything changed. Tim was rushed to the hospital and nearly passed away. Initially, he had a heart attack and extreme blockage in his arteries to his heart, which made the doctors give him a stent. Then they found sepsis, which set in motion an all system organ failure. He was put on life support for ten days.
During his healing process he discovered that he had suffered two strokes, which resulted in hearing loss from his left ear permanently and paralyzed his right foot. Many complications had arisen, including atrophy on his toes and staph infection. With many trips to hospitals and doctors appointments, all were hoping for some recovery. Multiple attempts to heal his right foot had sadly failed. So, with his family and doctors support, the best course of action for the return to a somewhat normal life was decided. Amputation.
So, as of this week, Tim lost his leg. He has a long road ahead of him including a longer than desired hospital stay and then up to two weeks in a rehabilitation hospital. He has also been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease that will need to be addressed with spinal fusion surgery after he gets his prosthetic.
His wife has shown such strength and courage dealing with all of this while also trying to keep life as normal as possible for their three young children. Tim refuses to let this setback determine his future. He is working hard everyday to make sure that he will play with his children again and be present for all of their major milestones in life. This moment will not define him. He will kick its ass!!
To help with past, current and future house and medical bills, we are asking for assistance from those who like to help others overcome their struggles, so they can live their best life with their loved ones.
Thank you for your consideration.
