Gym Defibrillator

Donation protected
With great sadness, last week we lost a valued member of BodyFx Gym Runcorn.

Martin became a member of Body Fx many years ago, and it was at that time he got his brother Phil into the gym too.

Martin moved out of town and lost touch with the gym, however having recently moved back to Widnes to be with his family, he found his passion again for the gym with Phil.

Martin was a much loved Son, Brother, Dad and Uncle who at the age of 44 has been taken way too soon. Martin will sadly missed by all who knew him.

On Wednesday 17th August 2022 Martin suddenly collapsed on the gym floor and despite the best efforts of the gym members, outside nurse and paramedics we were unable to save Martin and he sadly passed away.

Fewer than 1 in 10 people survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest.
Survival rate can increase between
6-74% with early use of a defibrillator which is an incredible difference.

A Defib was used at the time of the incident, however this was sourced from another nearby business.

With this in mind we have realised it is imperative that we have our own on site defibrillator.

With your help we can reduce the risk of such a tragic event happening again.

We are looking to raise £1500 for a Defib for the Gym, and would appreciate any donations.

Any funds left over will go to help Martins family.

We appreciate all of your support.

Rest in power Martin.
