Somalia Famine and Drought Emergency Response
Update: We've recently partner with Humanitarian African Relief Organization (HARO). HARO is a non-profit organization located in the United States. Their purpose is to provide urgent humanitarian relief and long-term solutions to systematic issues throughout the Horn of Africa. With their help, your contributions will have an even bigger impact than we imagined. Thank you for your willingness to help.
Somalia is currently experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe. For the past six years, the country is facing extreme climate conditions, the socio-economic impact of COVID-19, famine, and drought. Civilians are suffering from a combination of food insecurity, water shortage, poverty, severe malnutrition, and death from starvation and diseases. This crisis is receiving little to no media coverage which exacerbates the problem. Though there are resources available from other organizations, they are inadequate to keep up with the enormous demands and scale of the vulnerable population.
Our purpose in this project is to come together and raise awareness and collect a minimum of $10,000 in urgent donations by getting in touch with potential contacts within our community and abroad. These donations will go towards emergency response services such as clean water, medical and food supplies, clothing, shelter, and healthcare services. You can follow this project on social media and witness the impact of your contribution. In documenting the project, one of our team members will be traveling to Somalia to oversee and continue this effort with humanitarian relief organizations on the ground.
