Wharton NJROTC Rifle Team - Championship Bound!

Donation protected
We are the Wharton Wildcat NJROTC Rifle Team. We recently won 3rd place in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) Regional Air Rifle Competition. Our 3rd place finish has secured us a spot in the CMP National Air Rifle Competition in Camp Perry, OH July 10th - 12th. Our team has had the privilege of competing this year in Sandy, Utah and in Anniston, Alabama, however due to the cost of these trips we do not have the funds to make our way to the National Championships.

We are asking for donations to help us travel to and from the competition, lodging, and food. Our team is made up of one instructor, and 4 cadets ( 3 Seniors and 1 Sophomore). Won't you please help our Seniors end their final year of high school with a bang!

A little about our team...

Chief Boknevitz - Chief Boknevitz has been an Instructor of Naval Science at Wharton High School for the last 11 years. He has had the privilege of being the rifle instructor for just as long. Chief loves passing on his love of shooting to the next generation. He also thinks it is important that those that compete understand how to respect the weapons they use. Chief's rifle team has been one of the top teams in Florida for the last 5 years making it to various Navy competitions. The team has never made it to CMP regionals or CMP Nationals, until now! Chief is the driving force behind this 22-23 winning team.

Andi Boknevitz- Andi is the Commanding Officer of this year's program. She has been on the Rifle team for the last 4 years officially, and 2 additional years unofficially. Andi is a Senior and will be attending Jacksonville University in the fall majoring in Psychology with a minor in Naval Science. Andi plans to commission in the U.S. NAVY after she completes her 4 years of college and JU's Navy ROTC program.

Kylie Lewis- Kylie is the Executive Office this year for the program. She has been on the Rifle team for the last 3 years. Kylie has always been a positive light for all her teammates. Win or lose Kylie is always there to tell herself and her teammates how well they did and to look forward to the next competition. Kylie will be attending the University of North Florida in the fall
majoring in Marine Biology.

Gretchen Miller- Gretchen is the Command Master Chief for the program this year. Gretchen has been on the rifle team for the last 3 years. Gretchen is the team driver, always striving to be better, setting the bar higher, and in turn making her teammates better. Gretchen will be attending HCC in the fall with plans to transfer to the University of South Florida after she receives her Associate's degree.

Christian Perna- Christian is Platoon Commander for the program this year as well as Rifle Team Commander. Christian has been on the Rifle team for
the last 2 years. Christian is the one that keeps the team ready. He is on top of making sure that the team has everything they need, the range is set up for
practice, and that everyone is ready to shoot. Christian will be the only returning Rifle team member next year helping to build an all-new team!

Please consider helping these cadets complete this truly exceptional year of 1sts by donating money to get them to the National Championship competition. All donations are greatly appreciated!!
ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTABLE! Wharton Wildcat NJROTC is a registered Florida 501 c3 (through Parent Boosters USA)
