Support Teresa As She Battles Cancer

What can be said about Teresa Stogden? My name is Roberta, and I have had the privilege of calling Teresa Stogden, a colleague and friend for 22 years. We carpooled to Chaparral from Las Cruces every day and when we both transferred to Las Cruces Public Schools, I knew I could not bear to not see her on a regular basis so we agreed to have breakfast every Saturday at our hometown favorite Los Compas. We would talk and laugh with Jorge as she ordered “the regular” during our weekly visits. Our last breakfast was December 13 and all was well. On January 6, I got a call from her mom Ryita, who informed me that Teresa had been diagnosed with metastatic cancer and that “it’s bad “. To date the medical community has not determined if it is stage 3 or 4. Naturally her mom and sister are devastated. This has happened fast and without any warning. They are visiting doctors, have been to the Mayo Clinic twice and are reaching out for any hope.
Teresa is cooky, funny, hard-working and generous with her time and money. She is a teacher who thinks outside the box when it comes to problem-solving for her students with special needs. On her single teachers’ salary, she has donated to every GoFundMe that has come her way. Now, she needs our help. Please join me in helping to mitigate the medical expenses, as well as the travel expenses to and from the Mayo Clinic. If you are unable to contribute monetarily, please keep her, her mom and sister in your thoughts and prayers. They have a tough road ahead of them.
