250 days to raise £50,000

Hi,

We are a team of film industry technicians who are creating this fundraiser for our long-time friend and colleague, electrical engineer Lucien Nunes, to help him fulfil his life-long goal of creating a unique Museum for Electricity and Electronic Technology - MEET.

 

It's possible to imagine that there's a Lucien in everyone's life.

Lucien is the person who is available any day or night around the clock.

Lucien is the person who will never say 'I don't know.'

 

Lucien is a fixer. A Doer.

 

If a single world could summarise Lucien it would be; Dependable.

 

And the sad thing is... many of have known Lucien for years, we've known about his propensity for working around the clock, known about his terrible eating habits and listened first hand to his highly detailed explanations regarding the inner workings of the Compton Electrone organs of the 1930's...

 

But then something like this happens and we're forced to ask ourselves - were we really listening? Were we there for him, the same way that he was there for us?

 

Two weeks ago; Lucien got in touch to explain that in the same time-frame that he had received a potential lead in his long-held desire to establish his museum, he has also received a 'death sentence'.

 

The sad, terrible reality is that Lucien has stage 4 cancer of the oesophagus and has just commenced chemotherapy with the hope of extending his life.

Having collected a myriad of items across the years that are stored at a number of sites around the country, Lucien now faces the mammoth task of cataloguing, transporting, curating and displaying these objects in order to establish and open MEET- a first-of-its-kind Museum of Electricity and Electronic Technology.

So we've created a promotional video and fundraiser because we want to help Lucien achieve that goal.

 

Because no matter whether we were truly there for Lucien before, the fact is we can be there for him now.

Whatever difficulties Lucien faces in the coming months, he has made it clear that this project will be his sole focus.

So we're calling on the industry, fellow technical enthusiasts, friends, and anyone who wishes to help a man fulfil his lifetime goal to join us on this journey.
