Imagine a sport-loving kid being diagnosed

with two different neuromuscular diseases that would require multiple surgeries and severely limit his ability to run, progressively impair the ability / functionality to use his arms, hands and core muscles like before.

 

Imagine a determined youth despite the

obstacles and adaptations NOT letting his

diagnosis get in the way of playing basketball.

 

Imagine an inspiring young man finally having worked and trained to meet his first goal of

making a spot on the Canadian Men's U23

Basketball Team. A dream came true with an

invite to compete on a World stage in Thailand.

 

Then imagine for a moment a talented and

dedicated able bodied runner having the same opportunity in their sport. The shoes they run

in fit their feet precisely to their needs in order to maximize their performance and avoid injury to their body.

 

Meet Austin MacLellan, a 21-year old

wheelchair basketball athlete from Fredericton,New Brunswick who could use your help.

Austin hasn’t once let his challenges and

disabilities keep him from working hard to

make it to Thailand in September…but his needfor a properly fitting sport wheelchair might!

 

We’re not talking about replacing a cracked

hockey stick or ripped jersey here, Austin’s

custom sport wheelchair is a whopping

$17,000CDN and he needs to raise that as

soon as possible so the fine folks at Tango

Medical can continue having the chair

manufactured in time to be fine tuned before

September.

 

Even the smallest donation counts since we

have an amazing corporate sponsor, Bird Stairs-that has stepped up to match all donations up to $6000CDN!!! And another sponsor, Nashwaaksis Lions Club in NB, who have agreed to donate $5000CDN after hearing about Bird Stairs’ donation. How amazing is that?
