Wheelchair Accessible Van For Lynn Roberts
Donation protected
This has been a difficult year for both my parents because my dad was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in February.
My mom, Lynn Roberts, the daughter of the late Landon and Martha "Bonnie" Burris had polio as a kid. She graduated from Tuscola High School in Waynesville, NC in 1969. As she has gotten older, her legs have gotten worse to the point where she is in a wheelchair full-time.
It is extremely difficult for her to transfer out of her wheelchair into a car. Check out this video I made of my brother-in-law, Brian helping my mom at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6tA9NKylE0 recently after a Christmas get together with my dad's side of family. My dad (the man with a mask on) helped a little.
We really need a wheelchair accessible van with a power ramp. It would make things so much easier. Unfortunately, Medicare or Humana will not cover a van for my mom. Even used wheelchair vans are expensive. I would love to bless her with a reliable van with less than 100,000 miles.
My mom rarely goes anywhere now because it is so difficult to get in a car. The local transit service is limited because they only run from 7 AM - 4 PM during the week. My mom is very limited in what she can do. She has missed out on many things.
My mom is one of the most generous and selfless people you will find. She thinks other people's needs are more important than hers. I would love to meet this important need in her life.
Your financial support and prayers for a van are appreciated.
