Meet Nicoli Domenico Sindone (Nico) A little boy with a personality as big as his name. Nico was diagnosed with Congenital muscular Dystrophy. This condition slowly breaks down his muscles limiting his movements. Nico is your typical 5 year old boy with so many big plans however, this condition is holding him captive in his own body. He is unable to do many of the things he enjoys. However, Nico is able to explore the world with his trusty green machine (that's his power wheelchair).

Nico is in a family of 6 with an older brother, sister and a younger sister! Nico loves taking his chair to see his ducks and on trails in his yard. Nico loves to explore.

Right now the only way for Nico's chair to be transported is on a hitch mounted ramp. This has now become difficult with the snow and when it rains. Furthermore, the family always has to take two vehicles in order to fit. Also, as Nico is growing transferring him in and out of a car seat is and will become even more difficult to do.

Nobody knows how long they have on this earth and that stands true for Nico too. As Nico's parents all we want for him is an abundance of happiness and joy in the years that he has.

Nico would be able to do more, see more and most importantly live more if he had the use of a wheelchair van. This has been hard for his family to do as both of his parents need their own vehicles for work. Therefore, this van would only be used when the family travels together.

A typical modified van is about $85000. Nicos medicaid is willing to pay half the cost and the rest is up to us. Nico was denied OPWDD services and we are limited at this time on resource help. This is where all of you family and friends step in.
