Every year, Piedechinche, Colombia, draws paragliding enthusiasts from around the globe. With its endless thermals, challenging conditions, and welcoming community, it has become a sanctuary for pilots looking to test their skills, set records, and forge lifelong connections. In 2023, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Wheels

4 Flying and our incredible supporters, Piedechinche transformed into something even more extraordinary—a beacon of inclusion for adaptive pilots.

Last year, 17 adaptive pilots gathered for an unprecedented two-week event filled with shared experiences, learning, and camaraderie. These adaptive athletes, individuals with mobility disabilities, proved that the

skies are open to everyone. It wasn’t just about flying; it was about shattering barriers, rewriting perceptions, and igniting a cultural shift.

This groundbreaking event showcased the undeniable truth: wheelchair users can be as skilled, daring, and passionate as any other pilot. It inspired not just those involved but the global paragliding community, creating ripples that are reshaping how people view disability and potential. This is more than a program—it’s a

movement, a growing culture of accessibility and empowerment.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Transportation is one of the most logistically challenging parts of this event, and your support is critical to making it a success. With your help, we can ensure that all adaptive pilots and volunteers have access to seamless, reliable transportation throughout the event.

Here’s how your funding will be used:

Airport Transfers: Providing transportation to and from the airport for adaptive pilots, volunteers, and their equipment to ensure a smooth arrival and departure experience.

Shuttle Services to the Mountain: Reliable daily transportation to and from the flying site for all participants, including adaptive pilots and their essential gear.

XC Pick-Ups: Retrieving pilots who choose to fly cross-country (XC) from their landing points to ensure safety and accessibility.

Equipment Logistics: Managing the transport of additional gear, including wheelchairs, flying chairs, and paragliding equipment, to keep everything running smoothly.
