We bought a new used car about a month ago and all was well. We spent everything we had on it. Today, it started having problems, and the mechanic says we either need to junk it or get a brand new engine for it for $6-7,000. We are in so much trouble.

Our one car, five people rely on it to get to and from work every day. Without it, everybody loses their jobs and we become homeless. Our current available funds for anything other than bills and rent are $361, and I've not even purchased food for May yet, we'll be eating out of the food banks this coming month.

I need help. Any amount will help. I'm sorry to be asking, I HATE asking, but we are in serious trouble here.

If we don't replace the engine, we need to replace the car. To get a decent one in decent condition we're probably looking at about $2500.

Five people from two families rely on this car to get to and from work every day. We live out in the boondocks, and there is no public transport. Uber costs $30 one way, and three of those five people work schedules at odds with everybody else, so they can't share rides, so we're looking at $240 for four round trips every single day, which is not feasible.
